Tradelink greater capacity on casement windows

Tradelink has further enhanced its offering on casement windows widening the range of options and working to improve energy performance in line with changes to Part L of the Building Regulations.

Tradelink has established a reputation for quality and service over the past three decades, in particular exploiting the benefits of the Rehau PVC-U range as an early entrant and technical pioneer in the UK. Over the years, Kömmerling, Residence and various Smart aluminium suites have been added ensuring Tradelink’s customers have access to a comprehensive selection of rebated or ‘Storm-proof’ as well as flush-framed and decorative options.

Key attributes such as security, acoustic performance, durability and the products’ environmental credentials have similarly all received appropriate attention.

Stuart Walker, the Divisional Head of Special Projects for Tradelink, commented: “With our manufacturing plants consolidated in Cambridgeshire and Windowcenters across the country, Tradelink is extremely well placed to serve the trade sector and is able to meet a lead time of 10 working days for white PVC-U casement windows – extending to just 15 days for coloured frames.

“Our years of experience and the level of service we provide sets us apart from the competition.  Our customers cover a large part of the window industry. Along with those who look after private residential owners, there are also larger installers who carry out replacement contracts for councils and housing associations, where PAS 24 Secured by Design status is considered essential. Others, meanwhile, get involved with commercial developments, typically utilising larger frame sizes.”

Moving on to speak about trends in the market, Stuart Walker added: “In recent times, we have seen more customers opting for the improved aesthetic appearance of seamless welds – with the Rehau Rio and the Residence Collection – rather than the more pronounced groove. Then, in terms of energy performance, we have been making a number of changes, such as introducing compliant, market-leading trickle vents right across our ranges, and we will soon be seeing updated aluminium systems with thicker thermal breaks to respect the latest Part L requirements.”

As well as having its own fleet of delivery vehicles to help guarantee just-in-time deliveries to clients, Tradelink also has its own glass plant at the main site in March where double glazed units are manufactured featuring warm-edge spacer bars and a choice of argon, krypton or Xenon gas filling, and toughened, laminated or acoustic glass for enhanced safety and security as well as significant sound reduction. Triple glazed units are further available through one of Tradelink’s established supply chain members.

Looking to future-proof its offer to the industry, Tradelink is already manufacturing windows that comfortably meet the planned requirements of June 2023, with products offering U-Values as low as 1.08 W/m2K, giving installers and specifiers of new build schemes the opportunity to get ahead of the game. In tandem with this, the company’s technical sales team is ready to help customers create homes which are comfortable, healthy and affordable to heat.
