The Unified Water Label Association (UWLA) is set to host an exclusive event at ISH Frankfurt 2025, bringing together industry leaders to discuss the vital role of the Unified Water Label in supporting the water resilience agenda. Taking place on Tuesday 18 March in room 4/4.2 Brillanz from 13:00 to 15:00, the event, titled ‘Pushing Boundaries’, will showcase insights from a range of expert speakers on education, product innovation, market transformation, and best practices in water efficiency.
Among the distinguished speakers, Carlos Velazquez, President of UWLA, will deliver the welcome and introduction, followed by Timo Kopka, Technical Chair of UWLA, who will outline the latest performance bands and criteria for taps. Paul Skinner, UWLA Technical Consultant, will introduce new sustainability criteria, while Fiona Felix, Leader of Public Affairs at Hansgrohe, will provide an update on UWLA’s advocacy efforts. Outgoing UWLA Managing Director Yvonne Orgill will discuss the evolution of the Unified Water Label, with Henk Gieskens, Director of Client Success at Lyrical Communications Limited, addressing the role of exhibitions in fostering sustainability. Additionally, Tim Robertson and Jacob Tompkins from Get Water Fit will explore their global consumer education initiative, while incoming UWLA Managing Director Lee Cartwright will offer insights into the organisation’s future direction.
Commenting on the event, UWLA CEO Yvonne Orgill said, “2025 will be a significant year for water. The need for water efficiency is higher on the agenda than ever before across Europe. This is evidenced by the appointment of the first EU Commissioner for Water Resilience, Jessika Roswall, and the recent call from the European Commission for stakeholder input in designing the future European Water Resilience Strategy.”
Orgill emphasised that the industry has already demonstrated its commitment by developing innovative products that reduce water usage and associated energy consumption. She stressed the importance of collaboration in ensuring the Unified Water Label remains a key self-regulatory solution, benefitting businesses and consumers alike.
As concerns around water scarcity and sustainability continue to shape regulatory frameworks, this event offers a crucial platform for industry professionals to engage with policy developments, technological advancements, and collaborative opportunities. With ISH Frankfurt being a leading trade fair for HVAC and water solutions, the UWLA’s ‘Pushing Boundaries’ event is expected to attract significant attention from stakeholders across the housing and construction sectors.
