Treveth launch Perran Housing LLP

Cornish developer Treveth has announced the launch of Perran Housing LLP, a new housing association which will manage Treveth’s social, affordable, and intermediate housing across its sites in Cornwall.

Perran Housing has been approved by the Regulator of Social Housing to become a Registered Provider of affordable housing. Falling under Treveth’s corporate umbrella, the new Perran Housing will ensure the Truro-based developer is responsible for managing all the tenure-blind housing on its sites with a single management and maintenance process to guarantee all schemes are maintained to the highest quality, offering the same service to affordable and private tenants.

Founded by Cornwall Council in 2019, Treveth is helping to tackle the Cornish housing crisis by delivering new build sustainable homes in mixed private and social communities to people who live, work or have a family connection in the immediate vicinity of each new build home scheme.

Its upcoming sites include Gwel Basset, Tolgus; Bann an Hyns, Liskeard and Park Lanneves; Bodmin. Perran Housing will now manage the affordable homes across all of these sites which will ensure that Treveth has long-term stewardship of its developments.

Tim Mulholland, Managing Director of Treveth, commented: “Securing registration is an important milestone. We believe that every person who lives on one of our developments should be treated equally and we believe the launch of Perran Housing can help us achieve this.

“Affordable housing on most developments are sold to an independent Registered Provider, who then manages the affordable properties separately to the remaining open market homes. Treveth want to create balanced communities and by creating a single management and maintenance process, on each of our developments, we can ensure our schemes are maintained to our high standard and that every resident is valued. To make this possible, we had to own the affordable homes on our schemes and that’s where Perran Housing comes in.

“Our customers will all receive the same high-quality service whether they buy or rent an open market or shared ownership home or affordable property. Everybody will be treated equally.

“Perran Housing will only manage homes on Treveth’s own developments, ensuring that we create sustainable communities, with carbon-neutral homes, which provide the security and stability families need to put down roots in their own communities.”

Perran Housing will operate under the Treveth Holdings LLP corporate umbrella with immediate effect and will share Treveth’s mission of improving the quality of new build homes in Cornwall, especially in the rented sector.
