Concierge service goes the extra mile

Stratford Halo residents get a little extra help on hand

As residents move in to Stratford Halo, the landmark new development next to the Olympic Stadium, they are starting to enjoy life with a little extra help on hand. At Stratford Halo, each resident benefits from access to a dedicated property manager and a 24-hour concierge service is available to help make their life easier.

The concierge is a four-strong team who are available 24-hours a day, as well as two on-site handymen for odd jobs and repairs around the development. While the majority of the day-to-day demands the concierge team receives from residents involves deliveries and keys, there are instances where they go the extra mile for the people who live there.

Concierge team member, Marta Macczak explains: “People frequently lock themselves out of their apartments, so they call on us to let them back in with the master key. We take delivery of lots of parcels for residents – it is like Christmas every day here! If it is something urgent, we can take deliveries right up inside the person’s apartment or if their grocery shopping is delivered when they are out, we can let the delivery into their home (with permission). “

As well as this, the concierge takes residents’ dry cleaning, orders taxis and the team all have good local knowledge so that they can help with restaurant recommendations and reservations, as well as other local information.

The concierge is the first port of call for residents when something needs repairing, for example if the handyman is needed or a plumber or electrician need calling out. However it is sometimes just a bit of common sense that is needed as Residents Service Manager, Mark Dewhirst explains: “Residents call us if something isn’t working, but sometimes the solution is simple. One resident was in a panic because his oven wasn’t working – I just had to show him the ‘on’ switch.”

It is the human interaction that many residents value. Marta continues: “We get to know the residents and most of them always stop to chat. There are a pair of twins who live here who are real characters and come to visit us every day. We always try and do as much as we can for everyone, for example one lady needed a couple of extra visitor parking permits and another needed to store some boxes in the office when she had guests over – we always do whatever we can.  Stratford Halo is a large development but having the concierge present all the time makes it a friendly place to be.”

Prices for properties currently available to rent at the Stratford Halo development start from £1,300 per month for a one bedroom apartment, £1,700 per month for a 2 bedroom apartment.
