Transforming a derelict former quarry site, the new homes on Ironwood Avenue are the next development by Westleigh Partnership Homes in the county following on from the completion of 77 new homes in Burton Latimer.
Due to be complete in March 2014, the new housing is the result of a partnership between Westleigh, Asra Housing Group and Kettering Borough Council. The scheme will provide affordable rented homes for local people and will consist of 17 two bedroom houses, as well as a one bedroom and a two bedroom apartment.
Gary Turner, Head of Investment and Partnership at Westleigh Partnership Homes, comments, “We are pleased to announce that construction is now underway at Ironwood Avenue which maintains our development activity in the county, following completion of 77 new homes at Burton Latimer. This scheme is part of a programme of new developments which Westleigh Partnerships will deliver over the next 2 years providing 250 new affordable homes to Northamptonshire by the end of 2015.”
Jenna Heister, from asra Housing group, said: “At a time when there is a housing crisis in the UK we are delighted to be working in partnership to provide new homes for affordable rent. Desborough is a lovely place to live but many local people are simply priced out of the market. These new homes will enable communities to stay together rather than having to move out of the area away from their families.”
Westleigh Partnership Homes are now part of the Homes & Communities Agency Delivery Partner Panel on both the Midlands and Northern lots and work closely together with housing associations to build affordable new homes throughout the East Midlands, South Yorkshire and Cambridgeshire.
