Graven Images produces true work of art in Hotel Radisson Blu Mall of America project

Next generation solid surface by PORCELANOSA Group

In its search to create an original and ground-breaking design, architecture studio Graven Images (Glasgow) has produced a true work of art in the Hotel Radisson Blu Mall of America project in Bloomington, Minnesota (United States), developing an eye-catching interior design that uses Krion® pieces.

The project was unusual because the hotel has direct access to the large shopping and leisure centre, Mall of America. The hotel’s unique design matches the grandeur of the complex, achieved thanks to the use of the next generation solid surface by PORCELANOSA Group in many of its spaces.

Krion® Snow White and Red Fire was used to cover the walls of the lobby and the stairs located on the far sides of the room. In a similar way to the room that leads onto the bar and restaurant, the walls of reception are covered with Krion® Snow White sheets with geometric forms that are joined to one another, creating a design reminiscent of blocks office.

Large glass panels take advantage of the natural light, filling the room with sunlight during daylight hours. Furthermore, flashes from the coloured spotlights on the ceiling create a colourful and relaxing atmosphere that provides guests with a sense of tranquillity.

Both the escalator, found on the right of the entrance, and the stairs, found on the left, have the same decorative line, in harmony with the rest of the design.

This futuristic design is also reflected in the room leading to the Cocktail Bar and Fire Lake Grill House restaurant, which is covered with triangular Krion® Snow White panels, forming a geometric structure with great visual impact. Light in the room is projected onto the Krion® panels, creating a welcoming and very modern lighting effect.

Without a doubt, the project perfectly expresses the versatility of this advanced material developed by Systempool, part of the Porcelanosa Group, as it can be used to create designs as unusual as that seen here, without forgetting its properties, such as its low maintenance and zero-porous surface that makes it easy to clean.
