Who’s Who – Moores Furniture Group

Moores have been supplying beautifully handcrafted kitchens to housebuilders, developers, the public sector, and retailers for over 75 years

Recognised for their quality craftsmanship and trend-led design, Moores are committed to bringing their customers tailored kitchen solutions for every project, which incorporate the latest styles and innovations coupled with a five-star service. Today’s kitchen space is continuously adapting to meet the needs of ever-changing lifestyles. With open-plan living, effective storage solutions and multipurpose spaces a top priority, Moores work in collaboration with housebuilders and developers to design kitchens with homeowners in mind.

From the beautiful design and clever storage features of the Roux Kitchens collection, developed in partnership with renowned Michelin Starred Chef, Michel Roux Jr, to the premium quality of the Definitive collection, Moores offer an array of kitchens that are easy to design, deliver, and install. Their mission is to make every home a Moores home, sustainably of course.

Sustainability has formed a key part of the company’s strategy for over 30 years, and they are actively working to reach a carbon neutral status by 2025. In recent years, Moores have maintained their zero waste to landfill status since 2011 and eliminated 42% of their carbon impact over the past eight years, which equates to a reduction of 22,818 tonnes of carbon dioxide (tCO2e) – the equivalent of planting 142,613 trees.

One of the company’s most recent achievements is the investment in their new biomass boiler. Despite a challenging climate for a lot of businesses with many putting financial investment on hold, Moores have taken the opportunity to further accelerate their environmental roadmap, and in 2020 they made a huge £2m investment in a new biomass boiler. Alongside this, Moores have actioned many other initiatives such as replacing 2000 lights throughout their factory and offices with smart LED fittings, introducing new plug-in hybrid cars and a recent collaboration with the Supply Chain Sustainability School saw the company remove 20 tonnes of single use polyethene from their production lines.

Moores continue to invest heavily in their people and operations to ensure their customers are serviced to the highest standard. Their whole operational function is led by Guy Tooth, who recently joined the company and has decades of experience in supply chain and lean manufacturing. Another key area that has seen huge investment is service, and the company have heavily focused on their customer care functions under the new direction of Adrian Cookman, who was promoted to Commercial & Customer Service Director in 2022. Moores customers will always be at the heart of the company, and recent customer satisfaction research indicates that customers are already seeing the benefits of these investments.
