Timber Expo line-up keeps on growing

A string of industry leaders sign up to exhibit

Preparations for the first Timber Expo to take place at UK Construction Week are well underway, as a string of industry leaders sign up to exhibit at the show this October.

Among some of the prestigious names taking to the stage is Coillte Panel Products, the UK and Ireland’s leading manufacturer of timber panel solutions, which will be showcasing products from both its Medite and SmartPly brands.

Mike Harrison, Marketing Manager from Coillte Panel Products commented: “It’s an exciting year for Timber Expo as it joins up with the wider industry for the first time as part of UK Construction Week.  For us, this is a positive development as it opens the show up to a much wider audience than the timber industry alone – giving us more opportunities to interact with buyers and specifiers from across the entire built environment.”

Another major name joining the exhibition is British Gypsum, the UK’s leading manufacturer of interior lining systems.  With a broad range of products suitable for a number of applications, the company is one of the most well known suppliers of partitioning solutions for all types of construction.

Some of the other names that have recently signed up include : Koppers, an integrated global producer of carbon compounds, chemicals and treated wood products; leading closed-panel building system manufacturer Val-U-Therm; glulam specialist HESS Timber; roof deck and bearing systems manufacturer WIEHAG GmbH; and EcoCurves, a renowned manufacturer of glulam timber arches – to name but a few.

Supported by a comprehensive seminar schedule coordinated by leading industry association TRADA, the show has also gained the backing of several prestigious event partners including the Structural Timber Association (STA), the British Woodworking Federation (BWF) and BM TRADA.

Several interactive feature areas will also provide face-to-face engagement opportunities at the show, for example the Toolbox Talks Theatre sponsored by dhh Timber will host a number of presentations from exhibitors about their products, systems and materials, which visitors can use as a basis for more in-depth discussion.

Another key attraction will be the Timber Buyers Forum sponsored by Europe’s premier timber supplier, Vandecasteele.  Hosting networking breakfasts and a VIP lounge, as well as organising pre-arranged appointments with active buyers, the forum will provide a real opportunity for business with both new and known customers.

Taking place at the Birmingham NEC from 6 – 8 October, Timber Expo will feature over 4,500m2 of exhibition space and welcome more than 11,000 industry professionals. What’s more, the event will benefit from being part of UK Construction Week – the biggest construction trade event the UK has seen in years. Combining nine shows under one roof, UK Construction Week will unite 1,000 exhibitors with an expected audience of 55,000 visitors.

As well as Timber Expo, visitors will be able to attend the Build Show incorporating Civils Expo, the Surface and Materials Show, Energy 2015, Kitchens & Bathroom Live, Plant & Machinery Live, HVAC 2015, Smart Buildings 2015 and Grand Designs Live.
