October 10-11 at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire

nextgen, the UK’s fastest growing event showcasing emerging renewable energy technologies, will take place from 10-11 October at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire. Following a successful debut in 2011 which attracted over 3,000 visitors and 200 exhibitors, the event also encompasses ebec, the the european bioenergy expo and conference which is the UK’s largest bioenergy show, and microgen, a show serving small-scale (sub-50kW) power producers.

With the trio of events combined at one location, nextgen makes it easier for visitors to retrieve relevant information and to establish business connections. Installers, engineers and renewable energy producers, will mingle alongside managers in the public sector dealing with energy efficiency, or supervisors managing food processing and waste.

Besides hosting a major international exhibition to allow industry professionals to network with one another, the event also features a multi-stream conference delivering a range of topical and ‘how –to’ presentations and panel discussions.

microgen

Supported exclusively by the industry’s leading trade associations – the Renewable Energy Association (REA), the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), the Micropower Council and the Solar Trade Association, microgen allows visitors to take advantage of independent expertise, pioneering case studies and insiders’ briefings on subjects as diverse as tariffs and subsidies to payback models and smart metering.

The organisers have announced an impressive line-up for the opening day of the conference which will include an update on the Green Deal by Dr Ute Collier at the Committee on Climate Change along with a comprehensive review of progress made so far in the field of renewable energy, presented by John Sharpe, a Director at Innovas.

Later on the same day within the Keynote Theatre, there are presentations on the current uptake and Phase 2 of the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme, an analysis of different funding vehicles for renewable projects and a closer look at biomass and biogas power purchase agreements.
Presentations will be made simultaneously at five other seminar theatres, including the Micropower Council Theatre, which will also include a Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) seminar programme providing information on earning accreditation as well as vital updates for existing installers and registered companies. There will also be an important status update on how the Feed-in-Tariff scheme is shaping up prior to the November review while an additional dedicated Microgen Theatre covers all aspects of the fast-growing microgeneration sector.

Must-attend event

Lucy Pitt, Group Marketing Manager of nextgen media, said: “We are confident that visitors to nextgen will be able to capitalise from the highly relevant information and advice they receive. Twinned with the networking opportunities and the opportunity to get a first look at new and exciting renewable energy technologies and techniques, nextgen is clearly a must-attend event.”
“Bringing all the renewable energy solutions in one place at one time is a unique advantage for the show. For those undecided about which renewable energy source to select, nextgen provides essential information, guidance and support. For those ready to make an investment in a specific renewable energy project, nextgen is the perfect place to compare all of the options available from different suppliers, side by side.”

In summary, the 2012 conference programme will include topics of interest for delegates interested in integrating renewables into buildings (public or private sectors), including:
• Integrating renewables into buildings including an in-depth look at Social Housing energy projects
• Renewable heat supply: District heating schemes, with retrofit into both high-rise and large building complexes
• An update on the 10:10 project to get 100 UK schools fitted with Solar PV using a Crowd Funding model to engage all the stakeholders in the local community
• Waste Segregation and the Energy from Waste opportunities including a session on Landfill Gas: Hidden success – A renewable energy source, reasons for its success, lessons learned and implications for the future
• ESCO’s and local government, a method of getting renewable energy projects funded and launched
