Structural Timber Awards

The Structural Timber Awards recognise excellence across structural timber and low carbon building systems. The programme celebrates projects, products, organisations and individuals working across the structural timber sector. Entrants submit work against categories and criteria that the organiser publishes. Judges then assess each entry before selecting the shortlist and final winners. The category structure defines the areas of the market that the programme recognises each year.

What the awards recognise

Judges can assess design, delivery, innovation, sustainability, technical performance, customer outcomes, organisational achievement and individual contributions. The exact criteria depend on each award category. Shortlisted entries demonstrate how participating organisations and professionals have addressed these requirements. The final ceremony brings the categories together and announces the judging outcomes.

The Structural Timber Awards focus on submitted work and its assessment rather than operating as a general conference or exhibition. The organiser sets the eligibility rules, category descriptions and judging process for each edition. The judging panel assesses entries against these requirements before confirming the shortlist. Together, these elements identify the projects, products, companies and people receiving recognition across the structural timber sector.

Published categories and shortlisted entries also demonstrate the range of work competing for recognition each year. Entries can include completed developments, design projects, technical products, business initiatives and individual achievements. The organiser’s rules determine which types of work qualify for each category. The shortlist and winners provide a record of the judging outcomes for each edition.
