Specialist developer of luxurious homes for the over 55s, Blue Cedar Homes, has confirmed the levels of interest in its newly launched, small collection of new homes in central Wedmore are significantly higher than the homebuilder anticipated.

The 1.8-acre development, named Holden Gardens, comprises a mix of 10 detached, 2- and 3-bedroom generously proportioned homes which are located around a landscaped communal garden and summerhouse. Each freehold property has been designed to take full advantage of its beautiful setting and has its own oversized garage, additional parking space and private garden.

Over 70% of the new homes, which are exclusively available for the over 55s, have already been reserved off-plan. Construction is still underway at Holden Gardens with an expected completion date of Winter 2022.

Chris Fayers, Sales and Marketing Director at Blue Cedar Homes, said: “We are very proud of Holden Gardens as it offers beautifully designed homes in a distinctly stunning location. With the best of the West Country on your doorstep, as well the essential amenities nearby, it is just the type of place our customers love to call home.

“Whilst we were expecting a high level of interest, it was a pleasure to welcome over 50 discerning buyers at our pre-launch event at Isle of Wedmore Golf Club earlier this year and see such strong expressions of interest so early on in the scheme’s construction. We look forward to seeing construction progress and responding to the continuing surge of interest.”

Designed to cater for an active retirement, the new homes at Holden Gardens will benefit from a local Estate Manager, who will maintain the communal garden, private gardens, rear boundaries and property exteriors.

The thoughtfully designed, energy efficient detached homes will predominantly be two/three-bedroomed with adaptable interiors to meet changing future needs and enable longer independent living.

Blue Cedar Homes is providing £130,000 for community infrastructure improvements in Wedmore as well as a financial contribution towards affordable housing as part of their planning obligations.
