Futurebuild’s 2023 content is now available on-demand, giving you the chance to catch up on all of the CPD sessions that you missed in person

Futurebuild 2023 had a remarkable array of engaging, thought-provoking and visionary CPD sessions happening throughout each day, and although it would have been impossible to attend every single session, you can now catch them all on-demand. Relive world-class content from across all of the 9 stages, 500 expert speakers and 90 curators. The recordings are hosted on the Colab Professional Development platform in partnership with ACO.

It is clear evidence of Futurebuild’s genuine desire to create and encourage progression in the industry by ensuring the learning does not end with the physical event. All seminars and conference sessions are available on the website, allowing viewers to access new concepts and pioneering products at any time.

This year’s programme included masterclasses with Bill Dunster, Duncan Baker- Brown, Zerlina Hughes, Tom Woolley and David Cheshire.  Nick Molho, Executive Director, Aldersgate Group and Amy Burbidge, Head of Master Development and Design, Homes England shared their insights on the Sustainable Infrastructure stage; on the Retrofit for tomorrow stage Harry Paticas, Founder and Director of Retrofit Action for Tomorrow, discussed his experiences in low carbon deep retrofit while Julie Godefroy, Head of Sustainability at CIBSE and Clara Bagenal George, LETI shed light on district energy and the delivery of smart and flexible energy systems.

The Materials seminar sessions explored the use of greener materials and how to make the best possible material choices. There are opportunities to hear from a number of professionals including Smith Mordak, Director of Sustainability and Physics at Buro Happold, Dr. Katherine Adams, Technical Director at ASBP, Will Arnold, Head of Climate Action, at the Institute of Structural Engineers and Hattie Hartman, Sustainability Editor at the Architects’ Journal.

On the Interiors stage, Professor Sir Stephen Holgate, UK Clean Air Champion and author (Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health report on the health effects of indoor air quality), and Tom Reynolds, Chief Executive, Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA) discussed the importance of wellbeing and healthy buildings.

The Digital stage at Futurebuild saw Joe Giddings, UK Networks Lead, Built by Nature examine the process, outcomes and benefits that digital construction provides during each stage of the full lifecycle of a built asset from conception to operation.

With such a diverse range of speakers covering a wide spectrum of topics, it is an extremely valuable resource for people to feel empowered in continuing the innovation taking place in the industry. Futurebuild is incredibly grateful to speakers for volunteering their time and wanted to ensure it maximised the dissemination of their expertise.

“As an event that brings together professionals from all areas of the built environment to build a better, more sustainable future, we are committed to doing the work needed to reduce the impact the industry has on the environment’ declared Martin Hurn, Futurebuild’s Event Director. ‘We are so thankful to the speakers for giving up their time to talk at Futurebuild and having the content live on after the event means so many more people will benefit from their knowledge. By making these invaluable resources accessible to everyone, we are empowering our sector to do the same and make real changes in the way they approach future projects”.
