The Showhome Awards, a central part of the Showhome Live 2024 event, proudly announces Caroline Gumble, CEO of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), as a judge for this year’s awards. Caroline’s leadership experience and her focus on positive societal change in construction make her an ideal choice for recognizing excellence in the housebuilding industry.
Since joining CIOB in 2019, Caroline has been at the helm of the institute, providing guidance and support alongside a team of expert directors and senior staff. Her role at CIOB followed a successful career in business leadership, both in the UK and internationally, in the automotive and capital goods sectors, and within EEF Ltd / Make UK.
Apart from her role at CIOB, Caroline is a Director of the Board of Trustees for the Institute of Export & International Trade, a Trustee of CIOB Assist, and has recently been appointed as Visiting Professor of Global Engagement and Transformation – Built Environment at Loughborough University’s School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering. In 2023, she was honoured with an Honorary Doctor of Science award from the University of Wolverhampton.
Under her leadership, CIOB is undergoing a member-focused global transformation. Caroline is passionate about the construction sector’s potential as a force for positive societal change, emphasising cultural shifts in equality, diversity, and inclusion, social mobility, worker welfare, and promoting quality and sustainability.
The Showhome Awards invite submissions from across the UK’s housebuilding sector.
