Cosentino launches Éclos

Cosentino announces the launch of its new mineral surfaces brand, Éclos®. Éclos® marks a significant milestone for the industry, introducing an entirely new category: the “Inlayered Mineral Surface.” Based on Cosentino’s proprietary Inlayr® design technology, the brand expands Cosentino’s portfolio alongside Silestone®, Dekton® and Sensa®. It combines a layered design system with zero crystalline silica and high recycled material content.

The development of Éclos® represents a major investment in research and innovation. Involving 50 specialised researchers, the project required more than 28,000 hours of research and over 1,500 hours of testing by Cosentino’s R&D and Product teams. The result is a surface that brings together advanced performance, three-dimensional design and a more responsible material composition.

“Since our founding, we have been committed to leading innovation rather than following trends. Éclos® involves a new turning point for our industry, an evolution that responds to real market needs and anticipates the future,” comments, Pilar Cosentino, Cosentino Group’s CEO.

Bringing depth to surface design

At the core of Éclos® is Inlayr® technology. It enables a layered design system through advanced robotics engineering and innovative decoration techniques. Unlike conventional surface decoration, this approach integrates veining and patterning throughout the full body of the slab, allowing the design to continue seamlessly into the edges. The result is a surface with enhanced depth, realism and consistency. The surface also provides a more natural look and tactile quality. This attention to detail ensures that every element of the surface contributes to the overall design.

The inaugural ‘Eclectic Veins’ collection comprises ten decors that feature colours and intricate patterns that draw from nature. With these new colours, Sandr, Vancor, Lumer, Veilr, Ivora, Landr, Tajnar, Wondr, Legnd and Phantome, the collection fuses nods to organic beauty with precision technology, offering dynamic and unique surfaces for any interior environment.

The range spans soft, light-toned neutrals designed to create calm, pared-back spaces, alongside warmer hues that introduce organic depth. More expressive, rhythmic designs provide statement options, while darker, inky tones bring a sense of architectural drama. This variety enables specifiers to tailor surfaces to a wide spectrum of interior styles, from minimal to layered and expressive schemes.

Éclos® also represents a significant advancement in material safety and sustainability. Its formulation contains zero crystalline silica, setting a new benchmark within the category. All colours incorporate a minimum of 50% recycled materials, with several reaching close to 90% recycled content. This supports circular economy principles and aligns with increasing demand for more responsible material specification.

Engineered for performance

In addition to its aesthetic and environmental credentials, Éclos® is engineered for performance. Its composition delivers enhanced flexibility, ductility and impact resistance, improving handling and installation for fabricators. The surface also offers high heat resistance, capable of withstanding temperatures of up to 220°C. This includes direct contact with cookware immediately after use, making it well suited to both residential and commercial kitchen environments.

Within a global market shaped by evolving regulations, shifting demand and increased focus on material safety, Éclos® introduces a new surface category that brings together design, performance and responsibility in one solution. Industry forecasts indicate that the global countertop market is expected to grow at approximately 3% annually until 2028. As mineral and porcelanic surfaces account for an increasing share of this market, Éclos® is positioned to meet the needs of both specifiers and end users.
