MAS in partnership with Grant Thornton be will running the Manufacturing Financial Expert programme

The Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) is proud to support this year’s Manufacturing and Engineering Expo at the Kent Event Centre, Maidstone which is now less than a month from today on 8th October. This year’s event promises to be an inspirational business-to-business show designed to support and showcase everything that is great about the engineering and manufacturing sector and what’s more, it’s free to attend.

As well as the opportunity to see over 80 exhibitors showcasing the very latest products and services, industry leading keynote speakers and interactive workshops, MAS in partnership with Grant Thornton be will running the ever popular Manufacturing Financial Expert programme, helping manufacturers understand the best options for accessing finance, tapping into alternative funding streams and unravelling the tax implications of innovation.

“We’ve all read about the continuing growth in manufacturing and it’s great this is happening.  However, with expansion comes issues and Finance Expert is looking to offer senior management teams some of the answers to these ‘growing pains’,” explained Louise Whipp, National Finance Expert Lead. “The event is one of the biggest in the South East and a great way to keep engineering and manufacturing in the regional spotlight.”

Confirmed keynote speakers  for the Expo include Kevin Gaskell the former MD of Porsche and BMW talking about how to build world class teams, a speaker from Aston Martin, Texcel Technology and Will Butler Adams the MD of Brompton Bicycles. As a company whose component parts are all manufactured in the UK Brompton Bicycles is part of a new generation of UK manufacturing businesses.

Alongside these speakers a diverse range of workshops have been curated to offer delegates expert advice on areas such as addressing the skills shortage, coping with growth and finding alternative sources of working capital. With a breakfast networking session looking at how businesses can translate ideas into marketable propositions and the benefits that apprenticeship schemes can deliver, the day offers an interesting mix of knowledge gathering and networking opportunities.

Jo James, Chief Executive of the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce who run the event states “We have a fantastic line up of speakers providing industry insight and advice. We want the day to be a showcase of what is good about the sectors, and to provide visitors and exhibitors with the knowledge and support to continue to grow. Plus, of course, the opportunity to win new business.”
