MyLife Bathrooms has raised an incredible £7,740.58 for four charity partners following its annual Charity Golf Day, held in memory of much-loved friend and colleague Stanley Weir.
The event took place on 4th September at Warrenpoint Golf Club, bringing together 26 teams and 104 players for a day of golf, fundraising and, most importantly, an opportunity to remember Stanley and celebrate the lasting impact he had on those around him.
Thanks to the generosity of players, sponsors, customers, suppliers and supporters, £7,740.58 was raised on the day through team entries, sponsorships, raffle tickets and other fundraising activities.
MyLife Bathrooms has pledged to match the full amount raised, doubling the contribution to an impressive £15,481.16.
The funds will be split equally between MyLife’s four charity partners:
- Evora Hospice, formerly Southern Area Hospice Services
- NSPKU
- Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI
- The Larder Newry
The event was particularly meaningful as it was held in memory of Stanley Weir, a much-loved member of the Team MyLife family whose friendship, character and contribution to the business continue to be remembered.
A particularly poignant moment came during the prizegiving, when members of Stanley’s family joined the MyLife team and guests to present prizes to the winning teams and individual players. Stanley’s family also helped select the winners of the event raffle, adding a very special personal touch to the day.
The raffle featured an impressive selection of prizes, including hospitality tickets for Liverpool vs Leeds at Anfield, a signed 2025 British & Irish Lions squad rugby shirt, hotel stays and a host of other prizes.
The day’s top prizes also included an overnight stay and fourball at Roganstown Hotel & Country Club, helping to add to the friendly competition and excitement throughout the event.
The event was proudly supported by Kelly Brothers, the building contractors currently working on MyLife Bathrooms’ new headquarters in Newry, who came on board as the event’s main sponsor.
Andrew O’Brien, CEO & Founder at MyLife Bathrooms said:
“This year’s golf day was incredibly special to everyone at MyLife. Stanley meant a great deal to so many people, and being able to bring together 104 players, alongside our customers, suppliers, friends and business partners, to celebrate his life and raise money in his memory made the day truly memorable.
“We were absolutely blown away by the generosity of everyone who supported the event. Raising £7,740.58 on the day was a fantastic achievement, and we are delighted to match that amount, taking the total to £15,481.16 for four very worthwhile charities.
“We would like to thank every golfer, sponsor, supplier, customer and supporter who helped make the day such a success, and especially Kelly Brothers for their support as our main sponsor.”
Beyond the fundraising, the day provided an opportunity for the wider MyLife community to come together, with colleagues, customers, suppliers and industry friends enjoying a day of friendly competition at Warrenpoint Golf Club.
MyLife Bathrooms would like to extend its sincere thanks to all 26 participating teams, 104 golfers, sponsors, prize donors and everyone who purchased raffle tickets or contributed to the fundraising.
The company hopes that the donation will help support the vital work of its four charity partners while ensuring that Stanley’s memory continues to make a positive difference to others.
