The importance of SCHOCK CRISTADUR’s Quooker approval

As boiling water taps continue to define modern kitchen specification, the role of the sink has become increasingly critical. For retailers and designers, it is no longer enough to recommend a solution based on aesthetics alone – materials must now be proven to perform under the demands of true 100°C water systems.

It is within this context that SCHOCK’s CRISTADUR® sink range has achieved a significant milestone – becoming officially approved by Quooker for use with its 100°C boiling water taps.

This approval recognises CRISTADUR® as a trusted, high-performance composite sink solution engineered to meet the demands of sustained, high temperatures without compromise.

Available to UK retailers through 1810/SCHOCK, CRISTADUR® sinks combine technical excellence with a distinctive, premium appearance.

Manufactured in Germany, the material features a silky-smooth, non-porous surface that not only elevates the visual appeal of the sink but also delivers practical, everyday benefits. Its resistance to stains, impacts and fading ensures long-term durability, even in high-use environments where boiling water taps are a daily essential.

Importantly, this technical capability is matched by thoughtful design detailing. Visible parts are available in finishes that coordinate seamlessly with Quooker taps, opening up greater flexibility for designers to create cohesive kitchen schemes.

“Having two products so well-aligned, and now officially recognised as highly-compatible, provides retailers with an ideal solution to specify and sell with confidence”, explains 1810/SCHOCK Managing Director, Bernhard van Ommen.

“The approval of CRISTADUR® by Quooker marks a major milestone – not just for SCHOCK, but for the category as a whole. It firmly establishes CRISTADUR® as a leading choice when specifying sinks to pair with true 100°C boiling water systems.

“For our retail partners, it provides a clear and credible recommendation they can confidently stand behind in customer conversations.

“Ultimately, it comes down to trust. Boiling water taps are a firmly established feature in modern kitchens, and customers want complete confidence that their sink is designed to handle high temperatures safely and reliably, every day.”

Recognising the importance of clearly communicating the importance of this approval, and all other CRISTADUR® benefits at point of sale, 1810/SCHOCK is introducing dedicated in-store materials designed to support retailers in presenting this approval with clarity and confidence.

These tools have been developed to help simplify conversations around sink and tap compatibility, making it easier for customers to understand the value of specifying a fully aligned solution.

Bernhard van Ommen added, “We understand that for our retail partners, clear and effective communication is key in order to help customers make informed decisions with confidence.

“That’s why we are committed to supporting them with practical tools that bring this message to life in-store, making it easier to demonstrate the benefits of pairing CRISTADUR® sinks with Quooker systems.”
