UK Construction Week returns once again to the NEC in Birmingham, bringing with it the biggest innovators in the industry.

From October 4 to October 6 the regularly-bustling National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, UK will have its halls filled with construction gurus and experts from across the globe for this year’s UK Construction Week, the biggest trade show of its kind in the country. It promises to bring with it an extensive list of exhibitors from all corners of the industry and put them into a thought-lead melting pot, producing a delicious and layered innovation pie. It will be running alongside numerous exciting projects, such as seminars, learned speakers and the highly-anticipated Timber Expo 2022. All of this together promises one of the best shows in its history.

The Birmingham event, the first of two appearances from UK Construction Week (the second being in London in May 2023) will feature over 600 of the world’s best exhibitors demonstrating their latest products and solutions: with familiar faces like Bosch, CarpetRight, Google, Hikvision, Ring and Travelodge. Visitors to UK Construction Week will also have access to the sister events operating in parallel, like the renowned Timber Expo 2022 that showcases the best timber has to offer, from sustainable sourcing to products and innovations. This year’s Green Living Live will also be present, showcasing sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions to housing and construction. Visitors will also have access to Grand Designs Live, led by the man himself, Kevin McCloud. Of course, alongside these shows are numerous speakers and industry-led seminars which will serve to educate others and exchange ideas on how best to better the industry for the future.

UK Construction Week 2022 features several seminars on all aspects of the industry. One of these will be the UKCW Stage, sponsored by COINS, which will focus on the ongoing culture changes throughout the industry and what key changes must be put in place to ensure current issues are a thing of the past for the future. Another featuring talk will be the Digital Construction Hub, made possible with a partnership from Build In Digital. The exponential growth of digitalisation in the country has seen a recent surge in the last two years, taking us well beyond the previous forecast; this programme will focus on this change and what it means for the construction sector and potential challenges. The Sustainability Hub will focus on the industry’s ambitions to become net zero in the future and how the sector will reach and exceed these lofty goals, with a focus on how to tackle retrofitting future housing and building stock. This is just a glimpse into the many other programmes that will be present at the show.
