Amtico is thrilled to announce the launch of its new bio-attributed LVT flooring, Amtico Bio, in Taylor Wimpey homes from June 2024. Created using an innovative, more sustainable PVC, this new collection offers a lower-carbon flooring option to eco-conscious consumers.
Bio-attributed PVC is manufactured using renewable, bio-mass based raw materials, including used cooking oil (UCO) and crude tall oil (CTO) from the sustainably managed forests of the paper pulping industry. Physically and chemically identical to standard LVT, Amtico Bio is made to order, with Amtico sourcing the necessary bio-attributed PVC for each project and incorporating these materials into their existing manufacturing process.
By removing crude oil, a renowned fossil fuel, from the ethylene production process, the manufacture of bio-attributed PVC drastically reduces the amount of CO2 emissions released by more than 90%. This makes Amtico Bio the ideal flooring option for those looking to reduce their carbon footprint, creating the home substantially more eco-friendly. With the process independently audited by the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC), consumers can rest assured that Amtico is dedicated to upholding its declaration of sustainability
