Barratt Developments has appointed Neil Cooper as its new chief financial officer.
Cooper is currently group finance director of William Hill. From 2007 to 2010 he was group finance director of Bovis Homes. Previously to this, he was with hospitality company Whitbread for eight years in finance roles across a range of businesses. He is currently a non-executive director of environmental utility infrastructure company Pennon Group.
Barratt will welcome Cooper to his post at a date to be confirmed, after Cooper has fulfilled his contractual obligations to his existing employer. He will succeed David Thomas who will become Barratt’s chief executive following Mark Clare’s departure on July 1.
David Thomas, chief executive (designate) said: “Neil has a strong cfo track record as well as a good knowledge of the house building sector. He has been a key part of shaping the direction of Bovis Homes and William Hill and is an exceptional appointment for Barratt; I am confident that he will add real value to our business.
