Regional housebuilder Beal Homes has called on landowners to work with the business to bring forward new development sites, amid rising national targets for housebuilding and increased pressure to deliver homes at scale.
Chief Executive Richard Beal issued the invitation ahead of the Chancellor’s Budget this week, noting that while attention has focused on potential tax rises, the housebuilding sector is anticipating measures to stimulate the market and accelerate delivery.
Local authorities across the country are currently reviewing their Local Plans in response to the Government’s target of 1.5 million new homes by 2029 – a shift that Beal says presents a major opportunity.
“Local authorities are urgently reviewing the housing allocations in their Local Plans, in response to the Government’s demand to accelerate delivery of new homes,” he said. “This reflects the pressing need for increased home building, to enable more people to get onto the housing ladder and to stimulate growth in the stagnant UK economy.”
Beal Homes, based in Yorkshire, has been building homes for almost 60 years and is currently investing heavily in land acquisition and planning. Three live applications covering 625 homes across East Yorkshire and Hull are already in the system, while the company holds options on land capable of accommodating a further 2,000 plots across its operating region — which spans Hull, East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
The company now intends to expand further, securing new sites suitable for short, medium and long-term development. Beal also plans to widen its footprint into West, North and South Yorkshire, seeking land within roughly an hour’s drive of its East Yorkshire headquarters.
“We’re actively on the lookout for more development sites and we’re calling on landowners to come forward to respond to the opportunity presented by the increased housing allocations,” Beal said. “We’re ready, willing and able to work with more landowners to bring forward developments that rise to the challenge of getting more high-quality new homes built.”
Housebuilding requirements are rising sharply as planning policy adjusts to government housing ambitions. East Riding of Yorkshire Council is expected to increase its annual target from just over 800 homes to almost 2,000, while North East Lincolnshire is likely to see its requirement rise from under 200 to more than 600.
Beal Homes is positioning itself as a partner for landowners wanting to release land for development, emphasising its independence, agility and ability to respond quickly to acquisition opportunities.

Beal has delivered around 1,500 homes at Kingswood in Hull over more than 30 years through a long-standing partnership with Central Land Holdings. The collaboration is cited as proof of the value and longevity that landowners can expect.
