Post lockdown, new homes in North Yorkshire are expected to sell quickly in the second half of 2020 as the property market becomes increasingly energised according to housebuilders Kebbell. The region’s chronic housing shortage has meant that demand for new homes is still at times outstripping the rate at which they can be built.
Despite this spring’s lockdown, homes at Cornelian Fields in Middle Deepdale are once again being snapped up with Kebbell recording the sale of four new homes in the first week post housing lockdown being lifted. Now only six of the 64 houses in the third phase of development are still available for sale. Kebbell has just announced that it is about to start building the fourth phase of the homes which attracted first time buyers, growing families and downsizers alike in the first three phases.
Andrea Fawell, Sales and Marketing Director for Kebbell, says: “Most of the phase three remaining homes are three or four bedroom houses which are ready to move into now. We are excited to then be moving forwards with phase four with more homes due to be released to meet the strong demand. A sense of community and the regeneration of the area has never been more important.
“There are a number of schemes available aimed at helping people who are looking to buy new homes from part exchange to the government backed Help to Buy Equity Loan which may also be increasingly important in 2020.”
