What is one thing you would change about the industry?
The time it takes to deal with planning applications — and the lack of urgency applied to very minor queries. So much potential gets delayed unnecessarily.
If you could be in any fictional world, where would it be and why?
Definitely Whoville! Their Christmas celebrations look incredible – pure joy and community spirit. (Yes, from The Grinch! 🎄)
Who is sitting at your dream dinner table?
Lady Diana, Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley… and Donald Trump – just for the entertainment value! 🤣
What advice would you give your younger self?
Know your worth in business and always trust your instincts. Don’t waste so much money on champagne and shopping – buy crypto instead, back when it wasn’t even a thing!
What’s your favourite way to spend a weekend?
Eating good food, being out in nature, and planning the week ahead. A balance of rest and reset.
What three traits define you?
Honesty, loyalty, and the ability to think big.
What three items would you take to a desert island, and why?
A large knife – practical for cutting fruit and food. A water purifier – because I’d have no idea how to make safe water! And a survival book – because I’m no Bear Grylls, and I’d need all the help I could get! 🤪
What’s the most interesting thing about you that we wouldn’t learn from your CV?
I was actually in a TV advert back in the early 2000s – I’ll let you guess which one!
What’s your approach to change? Do you like change?
I like routine in my daily life, but I’ve learned that personal and business growth only happen through change. It’s not always comfortable, but resilience makes the process smoother now than it ever was before.
Do you have a creative outlet?
I love to dance and I’m always trying new things. I recently tried pottery – the process and end product (though far from perfect!) remind me that you really can create anything, even if it’s a bit wobbly!
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Semi-retired, travelling in a camper van, enjoying freedom while running my businesses remotely – and hopefully delegating a little more to my two children!
