Showhome recently caught up with Matt Goddon, Design Director, LEICHT Contracts, to find out a little bit more about the person behind the name
What’s one thing you always have in your bag or pocket? Like everyone, my iPhone! Whether it’s scrolling the latest news on my daily commute, getting directions to visit site, ordering client samples, checking my emails or simply listening to some music, I can’t live without my phone.
If you could live in any decade, past or future, which one would you choose? I have always tried to live in the now rather than look to the past but when it comes to the future, I am excited to see how technology continues to evolve over the next 50 years and make life even more comfortable, productive, and hopefully enjoyable.
What’s your dream job if money wasn’t a factor? If money wasn’t a factor, then I would say goodbye to London and begin travelling the globe! We only live once, and I would love to experience firsthand everything that inspires me on a day-to-day basis… who wouldn’t?!

If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

What’s the best book you’ve ever read? I’m a big espionage fan, so either ‘The Day of the Jackel’ or ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’ which follows the hunt for a Soviet double agent at the top of the British secret service.
Do you prefer a beach holiday or a city break? Definitely city break – no sand, great sights, and a wealth of different architectural styles for me to explore across some of the world’s best city skylines.
If you could instantly become an expert in anything, what would it be? A different language. Working for a German-owned company has shown me the importance of learning a second language. Not only does it help you advance in your career but also develop a greater appreciation of other people and their customs.

What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know? Well, I’m actually a bit of a multi-instrumentalist! I love to play the drums, piano and bass guitar, and I even sing and play bass in an established Pink Floyd tribute band! Playing across the UK and into Europe, Just Floyd has performed shows of all sizes – from a full-on Pink Floyd light and sound experience for thousands-strong audiences through to intimate music-only performances.
