P C Henderson have recently re-tested their trusted external folding door hardware system, Securefold Pro, to the latest PAS 24 2022+A1:2024 security standard.
Securefold Pro has been enhanced to support specifiers, fabricators and developers working on upcoming housing projects.
What is PAS 24 and why does it matter?
PAS 24 is the UK’s benchmark standard for enhanced security performance of door sets and windows. The standard defines how products must perform under a range of manual and mechanical attack methods commonly associated with forced entry. The testing process simulates real-world burglary techniques and includes stringent assessments of strength, durability, and overall hardware reliability.
What has changed in the latest PAS 24:2022 + A1:2024?
The newest standard reflects a significant shift in how security is assessed. It moves beyond traditional forced-entry tests to address the latest burglary techniques. This includes modern burglary methods such as super glue, freeze sprays and water. It also includes clearer testing procedures and more accountability for assembly and installation.
Crucially, the latest PAS 24 standard is also the primary route to compliance with Approved Document Q (ADQ) of the Building Regulations.
What this means for Securefold Pro
The reintroduction of Securefold Pro with PAS 24:2022+A1:2024 certification demonstrates P C Henderson’s ongoing commitment to delivering products that meet the highest levels of security and compliance. This allows fabricators to have confidence in delivering certifiable solutions. For specifiers and developers it supports compliance with Approved Document Q.
