Two showhomes are now open at a new housing development which is taking shape in Otham, near Maidstone.
Visitors to Parsonage Place, off Church Road – where Bellway is building 421 new homes – can take a tour of the three-bedroom Chandler the four-bedroom Milliner show homes and the four-bedroom Thespian view home.
Both houses have been professionally decorated and furnished, with the Chandler including a space-themed children’s bedroom, while the décor of one of the Milliner bedrooms has been inspired by girls’ football.
Mark Harrop, Sales Director for Bellway Kent, said: “We have seen lots of interest in the new homes at Parsonage Place since the showhomes opened here, and we are seeing a steady flow of reservations.
“The launch event, which was held at the end of April, saw a great turnout and we even saw three reservations made on the day.
“Work is progressing here at pace, and visitors can now see the quality of the homes we are planning to build across this flagship site, which will also deliver significant infrastructure benefits for the local community.”
Bellway is building 295 homes for private sale at Parsonage Place – including one and two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom houses – alongside 126 affordable homes available for local people through low-cost rent or shared ownerships.
The development will include a large expanse of public open space including footpaths, play areas and a central plaza.
Bellway has also built a new car park for St Nicholas Church on Church Road, next to the development.
The housebuilder will be contributing £5 million towards improvements to infrastructure and facilities in the local area, of which £3.4m has already been paid. Over £2.75 million of this is provided as Community Infrastructure Levy, while over £1.4 million will go towards primary education and £124,000 will help to fund cycle routes as part of the planning agreement for the development.
There’s currently a choice of two, three and four-bedroom homes available to reserve at Parsonage Place, with prices starting from £309,995.
