Exciting times lay ahead for Hayfield and the village of Stanton Harcourt in Oxfordshire, as planning consent is confirmed to bring Hayfield Green, a highly sensitive and completely unique development to the former disused RAF airfield.

Having laid dormant for some time, award-winning housebuilder Hayfield will be injecting a new lease of life into the area, immortalising the WWII airfield in what will be a landmark development of 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 bedroom new and restored homes.

The site is rich with history from the Second World War, most notably as the starting point for a crucial raid, and for being Winston Churchill’s departure point for the pivotal Casablanca Conference.

To retain its historic significance, Hayfield will be respectfully bringing some of the remaining buildings into the modern day, with careful refurbishment. Other historic structures will be brought back to life and used as informal recreation features, with informative boards explaining their heritage. A pattern of walking routes will weave its way through Hayfield Green and along the airfield’s former taxiway so that residents, locals and visitors alike can partake on a historical journey of the site’s story. A new community hub will also be provided within the refurbished former Guard Room.

Mark Gay, Planning Director at Hayfield, commented, “This is an incredibly exciting project for us to work on. We fully embraced the challenges that came with incorporating the past with the future of this former airfield, working hard to safeguard it and ensure that this is maintained with integrity.”

Hayfield has built a reputation for delivering incredibly high-quality new homes, having recently been named as one of the UK’s Best Small Housebuilders in the What House? Awards. Its homes offer outstanding specifications and at Hayfield Green it will be no different. A range of house types will be on offer at Hayfield Green, from 2 bedroom bungalows to 5 bedroom detached family homes, each with spacious gardens and private parking.

With planning permission now confirmed, Hayfield is aiming towards an off-plan launch in April 2019, with a show home opening in the summer.
