REDROW is among the supporters of a nationwide competition to challenge architects and designers to dream up Britain’s ‘Home of the Future’.
Organised by the Sunday Times British Homes Awards, the hotly-contested ‘Homes for Britain’ competition is being partnered by Redrow in 2015.
This year the initiative has sought entries for a standard house-type for developers to build, that features a garden, innovative design and eco features. In addition, the criterion demands all submissions to be easily replicable and buildable. The winning design could then be built by Redrow at one of its UK developments.
Six-short listed designs for the 2015 competition have been revealed, with voting now open until October 4, via an online portal: www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/bha. The finalists are also on display at a gallery exhibit at The Building Centre in Store Street, London.
Amongst the eye-catching ideas include an intriguing ‘urban barn’ concept, as well as several home designs that incorporate garden features over three storeys.
