Housebuilder Redrow is launching a Japandi inspired show home driven by sustainable interior design choices at its Kensington Gate development in Worcester, to meet rising demand for environmentally conscious homeowners.
Trialling a range of sustainable interior design materials, from biodegradable paint to wallpaper and timber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, the home will serve as inspiration for future Redrow show homes across the country.
Throughout the home, all soft furnishings, fabrics and products have been sustainably sourced from suppliers who are committed to environmental excellence and support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
These conscious design decisions include using materials such as 100% PET recycled polyester from waste plastic bottles, as well as recycled wool and acrylic. The home also features carpet and rugs which have been carefully chosen to ensure they are biodegradable and recyclable.
In addition to eco-friendly furnishings, the show home also features the latest styles and interior design colour schemes set to inspire every visitor – including taking inspiration from the latest design trend, Japandi.
Commenting on the show home, Alysha Alli, Redrow’s Interior Designer, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be launching our Japandi influenced show home featuring a forward-thinking sustainable interior design. This new approach offers inspiration in sustainability and eco-friendly purchases with information available to encourage our visitors to shop responsibly, and where possible, locally too.
“Sustainability is increasingly at the forefront of people’s minds when they make a purchase. From food items at the supermarket to the cars we’re driving, we’ve seen a huge increase in environmentally conscious homebuyers asking thoughtful questions around how a sustainable interior can be created.
“With the climate crisis dominating the news agenda, demand for sustainable interiors is only going to increase in the future. Our aim at Redrow is to inspire our customers with our aspirational interiors but also make considered and sustainable choices that reflect our brand ethos.
