Seascape in Ilfracombe is an Elan Homes development on land off The Shields. It will eventually feature 51 two, three and four-bedroom homes. The initial release includes the two-bedroom Atherington bungalow, available as a semi-detached or detached property. A finished example of this house type is open for viewing by appointment to help inspire buyers.
Elan regional sales director Tracey Ball explained: “Our new homes in Ilfracombe have potential for spectacular views over the town towards the Torrs, the Bristol Channel and the distant Welsh coastline. The location was the natural inspiration for the interior styling of the show home. The sense of calm and tranquillity that the interior designers have created really captures the essence of the lifestyle available with a move to a new Elan home.”
The Atherington features a combined lounge and dining room, with Juliet balcony to help make the most of the views, plus a well-equipped separate kitchen. The two bedrooms, which are served by a sleek modern bathroom, are at the rear of the property. The main bedroom benefits from French doors leading out on to the garden. There’s also an integral garage at lower ground level. The show home was designed for Elan by experts from Edward Thomas Interiors.
The firm’s managing director Andy Richardson said: “The show home at Seascape is a distinctive and characterful property that epitomises modern, open plan living. All the accommodation is on the same level, so our design was styled to flow seamlessly throughout and is united by a colour palette of blues, gold and taupe.
“The overall inspiration was to create a Hamptons-esque décor, bringing in elements of the coastal surroundings through artwork and accessories alongside textured wallpapers and fabrics for a combination of warmth and freshness. Abstract styling such as the split geometric console table in the hallway, luxurious blue rug and gold trimmed sideboard in the living space and full wall panelling in the main bedroom add to the home’s individuality, and we were also able to make a statement feature from the apex roof beam.
“The home also has a terrace where we’ve included some outdoor loungers and furniture, making an ideal spot for entertaining or enjoying the scenic views.”
