Tilia Homes Central welcomed some special guests to its Manor Kingsway development, in Derby, to celebrate the official unveiling of its community art sculptures.
Mayor of Derby, Councillor Alan Graves, joined pupils of Bemrose Primary School to meet members of the artist team and learn about what makes the sculptures such special additions to the Manor Kingsway development, on Kingsway Boulevard.
The pieces of art, designed by Sculpture Works artists Denis O’Connor and Bernadine Ritter, have been installed across the development as place markers for residents and guests to enjoy.
The artworks, which are centred around wellbeing, the importance of biodiversity, and horticulture, make specific reference to wildflowers and plants associated with healing properties, and fruits, vegetables and culinary herbs that will grow at the Manor Kingsway allotments.
As part of the celebrations, Tilia Homes Central made a £250 contribution to Bemrose Primary School, which has an active arts programme.
